Pulled the car out of it's short term home to do some work on the brakes this past weekend. After primarily sitting for over a decade, the brake system was in major need of some TLC. I did a suedo bench bleed on the master cylinder followed by checking all the connections and bleeding all four corners. I know have about 70% more pedal than I did before. In a pinch I suppose you could drive it around town, but you'd have to be on your game. There's still quite a bit of air trapped in the system, so it looks like I'll have to physically remove the master cylinder and bleed it on a vice. If that doesn't get my brakes to 100% I'll be sourcing a new MC and probably a distribution block as well.

Anyway, she's definitely getting closer. Close enough to take a quick trip around the block. As you can probably hear, traction, even with the truetrac differential, is still an issue! Time for sticky tires!

We all have some type of vice but a vise is a handy tool to own. :)

I have a new master cylinder for my Camaro, but no vice to use for bench bleeding it. I'm going to have to get a little creative, but I should be able to come up with something. The main question is whether to go ahead and replace the booster while I have the master cylinder removed.

Try gravity bleeding first.

Sadly yes. I was overcome by the power of the stance and couldn't resist! LMAO! Actually, the car has the new 3" drop leafs in the rear from Hotchkis. With the disc conversions I've done the hub to hub width has increased by about 3/4 of an inch each side. As a result I can't currently put the drop springs up front. I already rub terribly in the rear. New wheels are needed at this point, then I can get the front springs in and even out the ride height.

I've looked at those. I'm currently leaning towards TF Chicanes with stepped lip in satin black. 18x8, 18x9.5.

You don't think that'll look a little busy on an old car? What about the mach 5's or sleepers?

I am torn between the mach 5's or sleepers for my car, I almost want to buy 1 of each from steve and send back the one I dont like and buy 3 more of the ones I do like.

I've given that some thought. I've always wanted a mesh style wheel on this body style. I'll probably do quite a bit of photoshopping before I buy.
